Apollo Belstar Credit JV

In 2023, Apollo and Belstar Group formed a 50/50 joint venture in South Korea to offer a comprehensive range of public and private credit solutions, combining the strengths of both organizations.

Since 1998, Belstar has been an early innovator and investor in alternative investment products and is one of the first movers in cross-border investments between the U.S. and South Korea.

Apollo, the largest credit manager in the world, brings deep expertise to this partnership. The joint venture will expand Apollo’s credit investment franchise in Asia-Pacific. The partnership will leverage Apollo’s platform and internal and affiliated insurance balance sheets, providing flexible and differentiated capital across various yield and duration spectrums.

Belstar, with over two decades of experience and relationships with South Korean corporations and financial institutions, is well-positioned for this collaboration. Apollo and Belstar aim to facilitate Korea’s transition from a predominantly bank-financed market to one with alternative credit sources, enabled by recent amendments to the Capital Markets Act.
